Lighthouse Childcare caters for all the necessary meals, which are nutritionally balanced including morning tea, a delicious lunch and afternoon tea. Parents are encouraged to provide a fruit for morning tea.

What age groups does the Centre cater for?
The centre provides quality care to children from 6 weeks to 6 years old. The centre provides a learning environment, which is age/stage appropriate by dividing the children into three age groups.

Working with Children Checks

We carry out reference checks on all staff employed at the centre to gain an understanding of the competence, reliability and attitude of the candidates. To comply with the Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998 and the Commission for Children and Young. People Act 1998, a Working with Children check is done on all full, part-time and casual employees as well as ongoing visitors who will be working with the children.

What do I need to bring?
Bag,  change of clothing, milk bottles, formula and nappies  required for the day (If necessary) drink bottle,  sun hat  and  bed linen (all items must be labeled).
Bed linen is provided for the starfish room

How much notice is required, if my child is leaving the centre?
A minimum of two weeks written notice is required and the child must attend the final two weeks, unless a doctor’s certificate is provided. This will also ensure that your bond is refunded in full.

Am I entitled to the 50% rebate and how does it work?
All families eligible for up to 50 hours of child care benefit are entitled to 50% off their total gap fee and payments are made from Family Assistance Office.

Do I have to pay if my child doesn’t attend because s/he is sick or is absent for other reasons and/or Public Holidays?
Yes, the centre holds the placement/vacancy for your child regardless of whether he / she is attending or not. Therefore payments must still be made. Centrelink will still cover the percentage you are entitled to, even on absent/sick days/public holidays. As per Centrelink requirements you are entitled to up to 30 days of absent leave (excluding public holidays) for your child, further to these 30 days, a doctor’s certificate would be required in order to maintain your child care benefit and 50% rebate.

When are fees payable and how do I know what I am paying?
Fees must be kept 2 weeks in advance at all times, failure to do so may jeopardise your child’s position at the centre.
Fees must be paid for every day your child is enroled, including public holidays and when your child is sick or on holidays. Furthermore, a full daily fee is charged regardless of the number of hours your child attends.
Lighthouse childcare is a cashless centre and does not accept cash or cheque. All fees are required to be paid by Direct Debit only, through the Ezidebit payment system which directly debits your fees from your nominated bank account or credit card.
Should a payment be dishonoured, a $20 administration charge will be charged. If payments continue to be dishonoured you child’s position within the centre will be terminated
Deductions can be made from your holding bond on termination, for fees in arrears.
